Are You Properly Plugged In? Real Estate and Social Networking Groups

Technology, Social Networking & Real Estate Groups. By Lisa C. Hill, "THE SMART CHOICE!"

keyboardSo many of us have widgets in our blog side bars that show the many social networking groups in which we've joined. But do we really use all those groups? I'll be the first to admit that I do not. The one I use most frequently is Facebook, and that's just because I kick butt in the Pirates: Rule the Caribbean plug-in. (Anyone want to join my crew? Arrr Mateys!)

OK. So this is not going to be a deep, philosophical post about why we should be doing more online social networking. I'm going to keep it simple. So here it is...

Many of you have already found me on LinkedIn, where I started a group called "Real Estate Services". The more real estate professionals we have in that group, the more likely you'll be found by consumers who are looking for real estate services in your area. And to spice things up, I just added a new topic of conversation =)neighbors

While I was adding the new topic, I also ran across a very cool poll that someone else had added. Another business professional posed the question, Do you think testimonials help people form an opinion about you? Cast your vote. The results are almost overwhelmingly unanimous atm!

And that's it for this blog post. Stay tuned for my upcoming post, featuring the latest and greatest blog posts from the Things to Do/Places to Visit group. These group members have been busy, and have done an excellent job on their posts. I can't wait to share them with you all.

Happy Blogging!

Hi Lisa,

I try to use all my social media outlets but no computer application has yet to overtake my #1 social media tool- my phone....I am a big talker...and could talk and talk and talk and talk for hours.  When on Facebook I usually start with the online texter application and then end up on the phone.

Hi Lisa - I'm still a novice at all the social networks I joined.  Also after AR, I do not have much time left for other social network.

Lisa,

It looks like you are into the social networking thing.  I may have to call you to get some lessons.

Lisa - I will try and find you on facebook, and will also see if I can join your group.  Sounds like you have a good handle on this social networking thing, except for getting caught up in the pirates game.

To the self-proclaimed novices, it helps if you start with one platform and learn all you can about it, then you'll find yourself understanding how it connects with another, then another. And MyBlogLog is a great way to "claim" every place where you've registered. It will then pull it all together in one place. It's cool to see your blogs from different platforms show up all in one spot. And this also simplifies the process of meeting new people... thus the social networking.  =)
