As you all know, this is my real estate blog. But sometimes we like to change things up a bit. And today is a perfect day to combine some of our (my) favorite things. Around here on Active Rain, on Sundays we like to do a little thing called "Speechless Sundays". Speechless Sundays are like Wordless Wednesdays. We post a photo with no description of it, and you have the privilege of interpreting the photo in your own way.
But this Sunday is extra special. Today is Father's Day! And I have an awesome dad. My parents only live about 20 minutes away from us. (We're all in the Daytona Beach area.) So after church today... after getting a new key for a Short Sale listing and placing a lockbox on it, I stopped by to visit with my parents. It's not like we don't see each other all the time, so it was just a casual visit, so I could give daddy a Father's Day card. I was also able to check on a condo I have listed to rent, in the same condo complex where my parents live. What can I say? I like things to be convenient and orderly ;-)
So we all had a nice chat til Daddy fell asleep in his brand new, comfy, leather recliner. His rhythmic snoring was a comforting back-drop to my conversation with my mother. Ahh. Good times. Do you feel the love? LOL!
A little while later, we got a kick out of watching some, umm, interesting people in the community pool... I'm not sure I even have words for the "pool dwellers". LOL
So Happy Father's Day to all you Fathers, and Fathers-to-be. I hope your children love and appreciate you as much as I love and appreciate my daddy. And yes, at 41 years old, I still call him "daddy". What can I say? I am a daddy's girl.
Gee, I wonder what our Speechless Sunday photo is, about 10 years ago (the first photo)? ...Muwa ha ha haaaaa!
OK. Just to be fair....

Lisa I just love this. I felt like an invisable friend right beside you as you visited with your parents. I bet they love having you 20 min away..What a warm, loving blog and you made me feel like I was part of your visit Great and clever look to your blog. Are the links working for you?
Glad your daddy had a nice father's day!
June- Glad to have you join us =)
Joan- Well, we know he had a nice nap anyway ;-)
Lisa,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a Daddy's girl no matter your age. Relish your time with him.
Lisa,
I am glad that dad was awake when you got there sometimes we just fall asleep and don't know anyone dropped by. LOL
Is your daughter a daddy's girl too?
Cynthia- I have no intention of relinquishing my position =P
Don- My daughter is a double daddy's girl. I'm re-married, and my husband is definitely a bit partial to her too. ;-)
I like it much better when there are words to go with the photos. If I wanted to interpret photos, I'd go to Museum of Art or something.
Nice, Lisa. It is great you live so close by. A lot of folks move to Florida and leave the "kids" up north!
Russel- I tend to agree, but to post them in the official groups, the Wordless Wednesday specifies "no description", and the Speechless Sunday specifies "no words" at all! And without the groups, you don't get any comments. But obviously I'll never post to the Sunday group. That's just ridiculous IMHO.
Gary- It is definitely nice to be close by. I think we take it for granted though. We don't see each other anywhere near as often as we should.
NO-ONE has ventured as to whom that photo is of at the end
of your post, Lisa...is that YOU ten years ago??
What a sassy little smile you had.......and I BET you still have
it NOW!!
(OR is that NOT you???)
=-O
Alex- That's my daughter =) First photo is her about 10 years ago, with my dad, and the second photo is her graduation photo last year-2008 ;-)
Ok....I thought it was you a long time ago..... gotcha...... she does have you hair color.... gotta admit that..
First thing - there's no denying your daughter. Wow, what a resemblance.
Next thing - My kids remember me at least once a year. lol. My Dad is and has been my hero for years. Wish I could make everyday Father's Day for him.
Alex- I was amazed at the difference in the shade of her hair color. We always told her in was orange, and teased her about being a pumpkin. LOL. Half the reason her nickname is "Punkin Head". The photos show the difference. It used to be a bright orange. It's toned down now =) (But... psst.... mine's from a bottle) Doh!
Jack- Thanks. I hear that a lot =) BUT, if you ever saw her father, you'd be amazed how much she looks like him! And I'll always be a daddy's girl. He has the best disposition of anyone I've ever met. (((Daddy))) (Those are hugs.)
Lady Clairol, hmm? That's so cute...at least you admit to it...I know many women who will NOT admit they have augmented or changed their hair color.....
(I use Grecian formula...and I color my mustache too)
=-)
Let it be known that Alex and Lisa are honest about their hair color =P ROFL!
I have not changed my color....just gotten rid of a lot of the grey.......
;-)
ROFL! True. It's still under there. Although mine, which was originally light brown with touches of red, then blonde during high school, and now varying shades of red, depending on my mood, is becoming increasingly more grey under there =(
Well, sister...remember...grey gotten from righteous living is a crown to the aged... (OOoops ~~~ MATURE!!)
Consider that when you are ready some day, like me...to reveal your true age......
hehehehehe
